Kobudo Atlanta
Traditional Japanese Martial Arts
Kobudo Atlanta is a small, private
school offering instruction in
classical Japanese martial arts to
sincere people of good character
since 1996. We believe in fostering a
respect for the classical warrior arts
of Japan, and a spirit of service to
our community.
As a private school we are under no
obligation to accept anyone as a
student. All applicants for training
are screened carefully to ensure a
safe, comfortable training
environment, which allows for the
highest quality instruction for
everyone.
Also, we are not involved with
family-oriented martial arts, and under
no circumstances will we accept
children for training.

Training in our school is reserved for
adults only. The minimum age for
students training in our school is 16
years, with parental consent.

The topics we cover in class and the
training methods we employ require a
degree of physical and emotional
maturity which preclude children from
participating in this environment. If you
are interested in training for your child,
please feel free to contact us and we
will do our best to help you find
appropriate training for your children
in the Metro Atlanta area.
If you are interested in learning more
about our training, class times, tuition,
and application process, please visit
the links found at the top of our page.

If you would like to visit with us, please
submit an application and arrange a
time in advance so we can be sure to
have someone available to speak with
you. Since we are not a commercial
school, someone will have to take time
out of their own training schedule to
speak with you. So please respect them
and their training and schedule an
appointment to visit with us. We
usually entertain guests during
weekend class times, but will do our
best to accommodate visitors as
needed.
Welcome to our home page!
Our instructors are highly-trained, highly-ranked martial artists, with many decades of combined experience,
having trained both in the United States and in Japan. In addition to their training time and responsibilites at our
dojo, each instructor maintains a professional career outside the martial arts community. They do not teach for a
living, so their income is not dependant upon student enrollment or promotion quotas. Their sole focus is to share
with our students their understanding of the depth of real martial arts training, and to help preserve a tradition
that spans centuries.
We take our training very seriously, so only serious people should inquire about training with us. The practice of
classical Japanese martial arts requires a commitment of time and perseverance. We are not involved in the
practice of sport martial arts and are not interested in competition. Students seeking this kind of activity should
look elsewhere.
